Headquartered in New Richmond in the Gaspésie region, the SoluWin team offers its expertise in wind turbine maintenance and repair at various locations across Canada. SoluWin is expanding its team and is looking for a wind power project manager specialized in major components (MCE).

Responsibilities

As a Wind Turbine Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising the implementation of the company’s projects. You’ll be responsible for managing resources, meeting deadlines and ensuring the quality of deliverables. You will act as the main point of contact between the various stakeholders to ensure the success of the project.

Specifically, you will :

  • Handle incoming requests for quotations;
  • Work closely with the estimating department and other project managers to calculate bids, providing technical support as needed;
  • Plan and organize the stages of each project to replace or repair major wind turbine components (blades, gearboxes, generators, etc.) in collaboration with the teams;
  • Evaluate technical needs related to interventions on major components and make recommendations;
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise the activities of field teams, including site managers, foremen and technicians;
  • Ensure work progresses according to schedule, budget and performance objectives;
  • Apply current standards and procedures;
  • Follow up weekly site reports and manage additional or unforeseen work during execution;
  • Maintain a quality professional relationship with customers, while strengthening existing business relationships;
  • Actively participate in the recruitment process;
  • Participates in staff appraisals;
  • Oversee the financial aspects of projects under his/her responsibility, including approval of invoices, purchases, expenses and timesheets, to ensure profitability;
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with commitments in terms of deliverables, schedules and budgets;
  • Carry out any other related tasks deemed relevant to the successful completion of projects.

Requirements

  • Project management experience (3 to 5 years);
  • Experience in wind energy;
  • Experience in rigging and crane work;
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English;
  • A valid Class 5 licence and a good driving record;
  • Be available to do extra work when required;
  • Valid passport (an asset);
  • Diploma in project management or related field (an asset);
  • Proficiency in Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.);
  • Be available and authorized to travel in Canada and the United States.
